Yes. Since 1 January 2026, tourists entering Georgia need health and accident insurance for the whole trip, including arrival and departure days. Exemptions apply to certain categories; check the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance for your status.

Yes. Have a readable policy showing the insured person, dates and cover ready for border control. Not being checked on a previous trip does not remove the requirement for the next one.
Check that Georgia is covered, both health and accidents are insured, the sum insured is at least 30,000 GEL, the dates cover the whole trip, and the document is in Georgian or English. Also compare deductibles, service limits and exclusions: entry compliance and medical benefits are separate matters.
Yes. Policies from Georgian and foreign insurers are accepted if they meet the requirements. Check your existing policy first; buying it abroad is not a reason on its own to buy a second policy.
Electronic and paper policies are accepted. Printing is not required if you can show a readable digital document. Download the PDF before travelling and check that it opens offline; a link in an email may be inaccessible while roaming. A paper copy can serve as a backup.
You can apply online, but allow time for payment, issuance and checking when cover starts. A payment confirmation is not the policy itself. Have the PDF and active cover ready for entry; do not rely on buying at the last minute.

Choose a plan and dates, enter the traveller’s details and email, check them and pay using an available method. After issuance, check the PDF: name, document number, dates and cover. Payment confirmation alone does not replace the policy.
Have the document the traveller will use to enter Georgia, travel dates and an accessible email address ready. Copy the insured person’s details exactly, including the Latin spelling of their name. Check the email carefully so you can receive the documents during your trip.
Enter the insured person’s own details. For a child, use their travel document, not a parent’s details. Check the plan’s age limits before paying; contact support if the traveller is outside them. Every family member travelling needs to be insured.
The online form is available abroad and outside office hours. Card payments are intended for automatic issuance. Methods requiring manual confirmation are processed from 10:00 to 00:00 Georgia time. Technical problems may require support to check an automatic issuance. Before travelling, confirm that you have the policy and know when it starts.
Check spam, promotions and the email address entered. If payment was taken but you have no document, contact Polis.ge with your order email, approximate payment time and order number if available. Never send your full card number, CVC/CVV or SMS codes. Do not pay for the same order again until the first payment’s status is clear.
Payment and the PDF do not mean cover is already active. Under the contract on this site, a policy bought before arrival covers the trip from crossing the Georgian border within the stated insurance period. If bought while already in Georgia, a 24-hour waiting period applies from purchase. Events before activation are not covered. Choose dates covering the entire trip and check the issued policy.
Contact Polis.ge with the policy number, incorrect details and corrections. Do not edit the PDF yourself: that does not change the insurance record. Corrections depend on policy status and insurer rules; wait for confirmation. If departure is close, tell support your entry date.

Lite offers basic protection for your trip. Standard adds support with an insurance event through Telegram and WhatsApp. Lite and Standard have a 100 GEL deductible; Premium has a 0 GEL deductible and priority support. Choose according to the assistance you need and your share of costs, then check the coverage limits.
The overall limit is 100,000 GEL for each plan. The benefit table and policy terms specify the cover and limits for individual services.
The contract lists emergency assistance, specified urgent outpatient and inpatient care, medical evacuation and other services subject to its terms. Check each benefit’s limits and exclusions. The contract also sets a limit of 1,000 GEL per inpatient day for urgent hospital care and hospital care following an accident, in addition to the relevant benefit’s overall limit.
It is the part of the cost the insurer does not pay under the contract. Its amount, type and application matter. For example, a 100 GEL excess deducted from an eligible 1,000 GEL expense would leave 900 GEL, subject to limits and other terms. This is an illustration, not a promised payout. A zero deductible does not mean unlimited treatment.
Check these separately. The available contract has special terms for pre-existing conditions, pregnancy-related exclusions and restrictions on dangerous sports. Chronic conditions have a separate provision for life-saving care. Do not assume all related costs are covered; check your circumstances and the policy terms before paying.
Use the assistance contact in your policy. Give the policy number, insured person’s name, location and a brief description of the problem. Notification and authorisation matter for reimbursement. If life is at risk, do not delay emergency care; notify assistance as soon as possible. Keep medical records and receipts. Polis.ge’s policy support and the insurer’s medical assistance have different roles.
Before the tourist policy’s stated insurance period begins, Polis.ge processes cancellation and refund requests. Contact support in advance with your policy number. After cover begins, contact the insurer directly; it decides eligibility and the amount under the contract. GPI terms provide for a 1 GEL issuance deduction for a refund to a GEL account and applicable bank charges for a foreign account. Confirm the calculation for your order. Changing plans after issuance requires review and may require reissue; do not buy a replacement until the current policy’s status is clear.

Choose cover for every day of your trip, including arrival and departure. Polis.ge offers durations of 90, 180 and 365 days for longer stays. Check the dates and start of cover; a 24-hour waiting period applies if you buy while already in Georgia. A longer duration does not remove the contract’s exclusions.
Yes. A 365-day Polis.ge travel policy provides cover in Georgia for the full selected period. You can stay continuously or leave and return: after re-entry, the same policy remains valid until its stated end date. Cover applies in Georgia; days spent abroad do not extend the policy period.
Longer periods have separate rates. Do not multiply the daily rate for a short policy by 90, 180 or 365: compare the total price for your chosen duration.
Covered days, age, sums insured, benefit limits, deductibles, exclusions and service can all affect price. Compare the same dates and traveller details, then the assistance and claim terms. Cheap does not automatically mean poor cover; expensive does not mean every cost is covered.
Check in advance whether the contract can be extended or a new policy is needed. A new policy may have a different start time or waiting period. Contact support before your current cover ends and say you are in Georgia. Avoid a gap between policies; a new purchase does not cover past events.
Travel insurance addresses risks during a trip or temporary stay. MEDI comprises separate medical insurance plans: compare services, clinics, your share of costs and waiting periods. For regular doctor visits in Georgia, review the specific MEDI plan. Do not assume it automatically meets tourist entry requirements; check separately.
