Travel insurance for a family holiday in Georgia

Buying cover for adults and children: age limits, documents, shared travel dates and checking every policy before departure.

Who to include in the order

Start with everyone travelling: parents, children and grandparents. Each person needs their own travel document details, date of birth and citizenship. Enter names in Latin letters exactly as shown in the travel document. Do not use a parent's details in place of a child's.

A shared order works when everyone has the same travel dates and chooses the same plan. Arrange a separate order for anyone arriving later, staying longer or choosing a different plan.

Age limits and choosing a plan

Lite offers basic protection for your trip. Standard adds support with an insurance event through Telegram and WhatsApp. Lite and Standard have a 100 GEL deductible; Premium has a 0 GEL deductible and priority support. Choose according to the assistance you need and your share of costs, then check the coverage limits.

Age is checked on the insurance start date. Lite is available from age 1 through 65 inclusive; Standard and Premium from age 1 through 70 inclusive. These are the limits for buying tourist insurance online on Polis.ge.

For a family trip, compare the deductible, service limits and exclusions as well as the price. A deductible is the part of the cost the contract excludes from reimbursement. Do not assume routine check-ups, vaccinations or ongoing treatment are included without checking the terms.

Online purchase is available from age 1. For a younger child, contact support before ordering to discuss available options.

What to check before paying

Check each person's details against their own document, the dates and the total order price. Use an email address you can access while travelling. Each policy should cover that person's stay, including arrival and departure days.

For example, if the parents return home first and a child stays with a grandparent, the parents' travel dates will not cover the child's full stay. The child needs a policy lasting until their own departure date.

What to save before departure

Once the policies have been issued, check everyone's documents and save them on a phone for offline access. Give the child's policy to the adult accompanying them.

If assistance is needed, follow the insurer's instructions in the policy. Call 112 in a life-threatening emergency. Polis.ge support can help with missing documents and incorrect personal details.

Common questions

Can I insure a child separately from their parents?

Yes. Enter the child's own details and travel dates. The current online purchase process has a minimum age of 1.

Will the family receive one shared policy?

Each traveller receives a separate policy. You can arrange and pay for the family in one order.

What if the child already lives in Georgia?

For regular medical appointments and planned care, look into local health insurance. Choose tourist cover according to the risks of the trip and the particular contract.
