Travel insurance for a trip to Georgia from Kazakhstan
Choose travel insurance for Georgia from Kazakhstan, set the right dates and buy policies for yourself and your family on Polis.ge.
Choosing a plan for your trip
Lite offers basic protection for your trip. Standard adds support with an insurance event through Telegram and WhatsApp. Lite and Standard have a 100 GEL deductible; Premium has a 0 GEL deductible and priority support. Choose according to the assistance you need and your share of costs, then check the coverage limits.
Use the local dates of arrival in and departure from Georgia. Family or friends sharing the same dates and plan can be added to one order with each traveller’s own details.
How to buy a policy on Polis.ge
Choose a plan and prepare each traveller’s document details, date of birth and citizenship, plus a phone number and accessible email address. Enter the person’s citizenship rather than the departure country. Check the dates and total cost before paying.
After payment, wait for issuance and save each traveller's policy for offline access. Check names, documents and dates. Select an available payment method in the order; if a particular card is declined, ask the bank about its use.
Dates for flights and connecting journeys
Choose dates based on actual arrival in and departure from Georgia. An overnight flight may leave Kazakhstan on a different date from arrival. Check the local times on the tickets before paying.
For a connection in another country, check cover for that part of the journey separately. A policy covering Georgia alone should not be assumed to cover the whole route. Choose appropriate periods for family members returning on different dates.
What your travel policy should include
Health and accident insurance has been mandatory for tourists entering Georgia since 1 January 2026. The official rules list exemptions for certain statuses. For an ordinary holiday, follow the current requirements rather than older advice that only recommends insurance.
Check that the policy covers Georgia, health and accidents, at least 30 000 GEL and the whole stay, including arrival and departure days. It may be presented on paper or electronically, in Georgian or English. The insurer must be authorised to provide this insurance.
If you already have insurance
If you already have a policy from a Kazakhstani or another foreign insurer, check its territory, risks, amount, dates and document language. A suitable policy can be used for the trip; if its cover does not match your plans, arrange the cover you need before departure.
Open the actual insurance documents. A benefit shown in a banking app does not establish who is insured, whether Georgia is covered or how long each trip may last. Check whether activation is needed and whether children and other family members are included.
If the document is only in Russian or Kazakh, request an English or Georgian version from the insurer. If its limit is in another currency, ask for confirmation that it meets the requirement in lari. Also find out whom to call in Georgia and how to arrange a clinic visit.
Common questions
Must the policy be from a Georgian insurer?
No. A foreign insurer's policy can qualify if it meets Georgia's requirements. The country of purchase alone does not decide whether it is suitable.
Does bank-provided insurance automatically cover the family?
Not necessarily. Check the insured people and family cover terms in your contract.
What if no document arrives after payment?
Check your inbox and spam folder, then contact Polis.ge with the order number. If money was taken, do not pay again until the first order's status is clear.
