Travelling from the Gulf to Georgia with existing insurance

Check employer, bank and annual travel cover before a trip from the UAE, Saudi Arabia or another Gulf country to Georgia.

Separate the passport, residency and policy

Use the passport you will travel on when checking entry rules. If you rely on a residence permit for an entry route, verify the rules for that document separately with Georgia’s official consular service.

UAE MOFA states that UAE nationals travelling to Georgia need health and accident insurance for their stay from 1 January 2026. That notice should not be used as a visa rule for expatriate residents or citizens of other Gulf states.

Request a useful certificate

  1. Ask for an English or Georgian certificate showing the traveller, country, dates and relevant benefits.

  2. Check health and accident cover, the applicable insured amount and the assistance number.

  3. For family travel, confirm each adult and child rather than relying on a generic family label.

  4. Save the certificate offline and keep written clarification of any unclear benefit.

A message you can send

“I will travel to Georgia from [arrival] to [departure] with [travellers]. Please confirm health and accident cover for these dates, the insured amount, and whether any activation or payment condition applies. Please issue an English certificate and explain how to contact assistance.”

Common questions

Does an Emirates ID replace insurance?

No. A residency document and an insurance policy serve different purposes.

Must I buy a Georgian policy?

Not solely because you are travelling from the Gulf. Check whether the existing foreign policy meets the applicable requirements and your needs.
